The qualifying stage of the International Engineering Case-In Championship was held in late February: it is the only Federal Case Championship of the fuel and energy and mineral raw material complexes in Russia.

There are a total of five leagues in the Championship: Power Generation Industry, Oil and Gas Engineering, Mining, Geological Exploration and Metallurgy. Several hundred FEFU students competed in the first three areas. In late May the best ones will go to the finals in Moscow, where they will compete with the students and postgraduate students from the Russian, Kazakhstan and Mongolia universities.

The winners of the finals will be rewarded with the practice and training in the industry-leading companies, participation in the Mine Training School (mining and exploration) and Energy of Youth (power generation) summer education programs.
