The danger of coronavirus infection is a quick spread by airborne droplets and by household contact. Among the main symptoms of the disease are fever, chills, weakness, dry cough, respiratory disturbance, muscle pain, and discomfort in the chest. Disease prevention is needed to comply with measures to prevent infection and is also aimed at strengthening the human immune system.

Recommendations for the preparation of educational institutions by September 1

  • Perform general cleaning using disinfectants

  • Clean ventilation and air-conditioning systems, check the efficiency of a ventilation system

  • Provide hand sanitizers inside buildings

  • Admit international students to the educational process after 14 days of isolation. Students must be screened for COVID-19 10-12 days after arrival.

  • Organize the used masks disposal point

  • Revise working hours, including the schedule of training sessions and practices, to avoid massive crowds of students inside university buildings

  • Classes of correspondence and evening groups should be maximally moved to distance learning format

  • Assign a classroom to each study group

  • Organize outdoor physical education classes or indoor physical education classes with separation of time of different study groups

  • Organize lectures on the prevention measures against COVID-19, its features, and personal hygiene

To avoid infection, the university should follow few recommendations:

Daily

  • Carry out wet cleaning

  • Decontaminate the air and ventilate classrooms during breaks

  • Treat all contact surfaces in common areas with disinfectants at least once every four hours and after all classes are over

  • Check the temperature of all visitors of the organization with non-contact thermometers. Check the temperature of students and staff at least 2 times a day

  • Ensure the presence of students in classrooms and lecture halls wearing masks. During lectures, as well as during creative training sessions, teachers are allowed not to use masks

  • Do not allow students and staff with signs of infectious diseases (fever, cough, runny nose) to enter the institution

At dormitories

  • Provide staff with a supply of disposable and reusable masks, gloves, disinfectant wipes, and antiseptics

  • Provide premises for the 14-day self-isolation of foreign students who arrived in Russia by the beginning of the academic year.

  • Separate clean and dirty laundry when washing bed linen

To avoid infection, students should follow a few recommendations:

  • Wear masks inside the university building and change them every three hours  (Depending on the type of masks)

  • The mask should fit tight the nose, face, and chin without leaving a gap. The single-use mask cannot be used multiple times.

  • Do not touch your face with your hands.

  • Treat your hands with antiseptics for at least 20-30 seconds, wash your hands as often as possible - within 40-60 seconds.

  • Treat your personal belongings, including your phone, keys, keyboards, transport, and bank cards, with an antiseptic. The infection сan be on various surfaces from several hours to a couple of days.

  • Avoid shaking hands and other tactile contact until the epidemiological situation stabilizes.

  • Do not eat in classrooms and workplaces.

  • Avoid crowded places and, if possible, avoid mass festivities.

  • Ventilate your dorm rooms and homes.

  • Do the laundry after visiting crowded places, because COVID-19 infection can stay on clothes for up to six hours, but it is quickly neutralized when exposed to cleaning/detergents.

  • Do not leave your home if you have disease markers (fever, cough, runny nose). If you have a cough or runny nose, use disposable wipes to cover your mouth and nose.

In case of coronavirus infection markers, ask for help at a medical institution. Make sure to tell a doctor where you have been, with whom you have contacted, and after what you have had symptoms.
