The team of the Military Training Center of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) won the Interuniversity Military Engineering Competition, which was held in Tyumen from May 13-17. The competition was attended by teams of educational institutions from different cities of the country, including Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, and Vladivostok.

The program of the competition included a creative team presentation, a brain-ring on knowledge of the history of the engineering troops of Russia, and the most spectacular final stage - the military engineering race.

FEFU students easily crossed the obstacle line prepared by the organizers. During the competition, they installed a heavy mechanized bridge laying machine to cross a deep ditch, quickly and smoothly defused anti-tank and anti-personnel explosive devices, and also overcame infantry fording site using the inflatable boat. In addition, the team was required to bypass the barrage of anti-tank obstacles and wire fence and connect electricity to specified military facilities.

“In such competitions, students of Military Training Centers temper their character, demonstrate the level of training. The team of Far Eastern Federal University adequately passed all stages and won first place in the race. The students proved in practice that they could perform the complex tasks assigned to them, and this is the great merit of the military department staff of the Main Directorate of Engineering Troops”, said Alexander Frolov, the Colonel, Head of FEFU Military Training Center.

FEFU Military Training Center is established to provide military training for Russian citizens. The learning process is carried out without interrupting the basic academic program. After receiving a diploma, graduates are required to serve under contract in the Armed Forces of Russia.
