Mar 20, 2017 - Admission

More than 80 students from the Republic of India will be admitted to the School of Biomedicine of Far East Federal University (FEFU) in 2017. This was agreed by Yuri Khotimchenko, Vice President for Medical Affairs, Director of the School of Biomedicine; Ravi Chandran Chockalingam, Managing Director, Study Abroad Educational Consultants, and Mikhail Gorbatov, Vice Consul, Russian Consulate General in India.

"Our company has cooperated with FEFU for the second year in a row," said Ravi Chandran Chockalingam. Last year, 38 students from India were enrolled in General Medicine at the School of Biomedicine, and this year we plan to increase the batch at least twice as large. I am sure that every year the number of people willing to study in FEFU will grow. "We estimate that by 2020 the number of Indian students on the university's medical programs may reach 500."

In 2016 FEFU was the first university in the Far East to establish the General Medicine international program, to which Indian citizens were admitted. The program is fully in English. Starting from the first year of study, Indian students are studying disciplines to form the basis of the training of future physicians—Anatomy, Medical Chemistry, Nursing, Biology, Latin Language, Pathology, Histology, the Basics of Internal Human Diseases, and others.

"At the meeting we also decided that students would be able to choose the country in which they would be trained and practise, since they would all leave for their homes after graduation," added Vice President Yuri Khotimchenko. The main clinical base of the School of Biomedicine is the FEFU Medical Center. "Starting from the student bench, future doctors are acquainted with the most modern equipment, participate in surgeries, and learn to work with the latest medical technologies."

Far Eastern Federal University is rapidly gaining popularity in the world. Today, more than 3,200 students from 52 states are studying in FEFU. The absolute majority of them—75 per cent—are from the Asia-Pacific region. In recent years, the number of international applicants to FEFU has increased severalfold, and countries such as Chad, Syria,  Zambia, Cameroon, Cote D'Ivoire, Brazil, Venezuela, Lebanon, and  Zimbabwe have appeared on the world map of the University students.
