Apr 6, 2020 - FEFU News

From April 6 to April 30, 2020, educational activities at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) under the main programs of all levels of training, additional programs, and vocational training programs will be continued exclusively with the use of e-learning and distance technologies. These measures have been taken to preserve the health of students and university staff in connection with the threat of the spread of coronavirus infection. The corresponding order of the FEFU was signed on April 3.

Far Eastern Federal University was one of first Russia's universities to transfer the educational process to the electronic environment starting from March 23. Access to information and educational services was open to 20 thousand students and 2.5 thousand professors. Such a training format excludes direct contact in university classrooms, which is extremely important in the context of the infection spread.

Microsoft Teams platform is recommended for use. It allows to organize all types of educational activities: conduct lectures, practical classes, seminars, and consultations; load educational content from any sources; integrate third-party applications, carry out the check and evaluation of tasks; conduct a rating assessment of academic performance and much more. To help students and professors, a special section has been launched where educational materials, instructions, and videos are posted. Professors can conduct classes on alternative educational platforms in coordination with the School Directorate.

Starting from April 6, the FEFU pre-university units are also switching to e-learning using distance technologies in general education programs.
