The corresponding agreement was signed by the FEFU President Boris Korobets and the CQUPT President Gao Xinbo on the sidelines of the VIII Eastern Economic Forum.

As part of the agreement, the parties outlined the creation of the first educational programs based on the following areas of training: applied mathematics and computer science, information systems and technologies, electronics and nanoelectronics, design. Enrollment for the programs is planned to begin as early as the next academic year.

“The field of information technology is developing extremely quickly, so it is especially important for us to train qualified personnel for the most modern developments and solutions in this area. FEFU and CQUPT plan to speed up this process and will jointly train IT specialists for high-tech enterprises in Russia and China,” said Boris Korobets.

According to him, FEFU is systematically increasing partnerships with leading technology and IT companies in Russia and the Asia-Pacific region (APR).

“Increasing the staff resources levels in the information technology industry is our strategic goal. By joining forces with FEFU, we will be able to reach a new level in the training of specialists. This agreement is only the first stage, it will be followed by separate agreements between our educational institutions,” said Gao Xinbo.

The agreement is aimed at strengthening relationships between universities and developing academic and cultural interaction in the field of education and research activities between Russia and China. Cooperation will include student and faculty exchanges, field trips, as well as the launch of joint scientific projects, conferences and cultural programs.

Let us remind you that FEFU traditionally acts as the largest center for teaching and promoting the Russian language in China; in total, there are 15 schools, for which the university develops curriculum. The year 2023 for the university marked the resumption of intense interaction with partners from China after a three-year COVID-19 pause and the launch of numerous joint projects.
