An international summer school has opened at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). During the week, high school students from the People's Republic of China (PRC) got acquainted with Russia, its history and cultural traditions, got to know the Russian language and prepare for admission to the FEFU. The school is held with the assistance of the Longmei Education Corporation in China.

The first day of schoolchildren's stay at the university began with a tour of the campus - future students got acquainted with the infrastructure of the campus with great interest: educational and hotel buildings, a sports complex and the campus embankment. The children were shown the opportunities for life and study provided to FEFU students.

“We are happy to welcome the students to Vladivostok, especially to the FEFU campus. Students from 79 countries study at our university, among which 1500 are students from the People's Republic of China. They study different areas: economics, politics, international relations, philology, construction and many others. I am convinced that the participants of the International Summer School will also be able to become FEFU students and build positive relations between our countries in the future,” shared Evgeny Vlasov, Vice President for International Relations.

The program of the International Summer School is full of meetings with students, workshops, traditional for foreign guests, on decorating matryoshka dolls and making pancakes, as well as educational sightseeing around Vladivostok.

“This year, these students became the first participants in the International Summer School, held on the basis of our university. We thank them for this choice, and for our part, we will do our best to make their stay here memorable for them as an exciting journey. We will be glad to see them again within the walls of our university,” said Anna Volodkina, Director of the Center for International Promotion, Tourism and Protocol of the Far Eastern Federal University.

It should be noted that Far Eastern Federal University has been cooperating with the Longmei Education Corporation since 2017. The organization specializes in teaching art, music, design and dance skills to high school students, and also prepares them for entering higher educational institutions. Over the past few years, FEFU and Longmei have implemented advanced training programs for teachers of art and design areas, held conferences, creative reviews, competitions and festivals.

Recall that FEFU, as one of the leading centers of Chinese Studies, is actively involved in strengthening cooperation between Russia and China in various areas. There are already 12 FEFU Russian Language and Culture Centers in China. In 2023, Far Eastern Federal University will open three new Russian Language and Culture Centers in Hebei, Jiangsu and Shandong provinces of China. The centers will train foreign students who plan to further receive higher education in Russia.
