Educational program overview

Biotechnology is the discipline in-between science and technology with one of the fastest growth worldwide. It deals with employing living organisms and biological processes in order to design new products useful to human.

Nowadays biotechnology is considered to be among priority areas in both natural sciences and engineering. Molecular biotechnologists are equally researchers and engineers, who know how to manipulate molecules, genes, and cells. Molecular Biotechnology knowledge is especially vital for modern medical and pharmaceutical industry, as well as for current and future approaches in healthcare, where molecular and cell techniques are going to be applied more and more every year.

This rapid bioengineering expansion we are witnessing is explained by the robust progress in biology, especially in the areas of microbiology, enzymology, genetics, molecular and cell biology.

Advancement in each of these areas allowed to merge all the applied knowledge into a whole new discipline, that translates all the modern biology into the applied engineering, and knowledge of how it is achieved constitutes a new fundamental discipline, namely molecular biotechnology.

Career Prospects

The profession of molecular biotechnology is international and is in demand all over the world - the largest pharmacological companies hunt for good specialists in this field.

It allows to work in: universities, institutes, academies, colleges where you can work as lecturers and researchers, and make an academic career; research institutes, laboratories, research centers; scientific research institutes, laboratories, R & D centers of leading corporations, and technology startups.

Your expertise will be in demand in any field of activity where creative thinking and originality of decisions is required, based on fundamental knowledge in natural sciences and their applications for the benefit of people and the planet as a whole.

Why Institute of Life Sciences and Biomedicine?

The training is organized on the basis of the Department of Medical Biology and Biotechnology and the Center for Genomic and Regenerative Medicine, the laboratories of which are equipped with unique equipment for studying molecules and cells, carrying out drug development, and performing preclinical tests of medical and pharmaceutical technologies. We develop project-oriented learning.

We encourage academic exchange and internships at the best universities and companies in the world.

We develop large international projects in the field of medical biotechnology, marine biotechnology, biotechnology and plant pharmacology.
