Determination of the strength of normal adhesion of brick masonry by splitting

Abstract: A technique was developed and tested to determine the cohesion strength in masonry at non-tied seams by testing the core samples selected from the structure by the splitting method. The idea of the work is to apply the well-known method for determining tensile strength by cracking a cylindrical specimen to assess the adhesion strength in masonry along an untied seam. Masonry core samples were taken under natural conditions. A comparison of the test results of masonry cores with the data obtained by the standard method using the ОНИКС-1.СК device was made. The test results do not contradict each other with a provision 95%.
