Methods for coprecipitation of heavy metals in waste waters of galvanic production
with magnesium and calcium ions of seawater

Abstract: Experimental methods of reagent purification of galvanic impurities based on the precipitation of magnesium and calcium ions from seawater in the presence of sodium hydroxide and aluminum salt are considered. The influence of various reagents on the process of coagulation of impurities and sedimentation rate of flakes is considered. Based on the experimental data obtained by the authors, a waste water treatment method has been developed for a shipbuilding company allowing to reduce the sedimentation time of waste water and the cost of reagents.

A seria of lab experiments was carried out on the deposition of heavy metals in waste water of galvanic production by various methods, which reduces the cost of reagents. The methods of probability theory and mathematical statistics are applied to optimize the number of experiments. The regression equation was obtained on a dimensionless scale relatively to time with the approximation parameters of the results of computer simulation. The model shows the formation of flocs in time.

Keywords: galvanic drains, reagent treatment with sea water, modeling of the coagulation process.
