Jobs of Graduates

Graduates of the School of Regional and International Studies work as diplomats and counselors of the Russian Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and National Security Departments (Federal Security Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and customs). Some graduates are employed in international relations; many of them succeed as mass media consultants and analysts, faculty and scholars. Graduates of SRIS possess all the necessary qualifications to efficiently participate in current cultural, economic, and political collaboration of the Pacific Rim countries.

The alumni have a number of career opportunities, including employment at

government institutions of the federal and regional level and international organizations as diplomats and experts who generate ideas and make decisions;

analytical departments of business organizations, commercial, non-commercial and public international organization that carry out consulting, informational, analytical and research functions as analysts, experts in international issues and project leaders;

academic, official and non-governmental analytical organizations dealing with international affairs as analysts and research workers;

mass media as reviewers and experts;

institutions of professional education with a focus on international relations and foreign languages as members of the faculty or executives.

Moreover, students can work as interpreters, translators, teachers of EFL and ESL, mediators in cross-cultural communication, managers in the sphere of digital humanities, guides, tour operators, managers in the area of tourism.
